My Cyprus Walk

Description
My Cyprus Walk is a digital walk along one street, the first to feel familiar to the artist after arriving in Cyprus. It’s a visual reflection on memory: its inaccuracies, transformations and emotional anchors, gathering fragments of first contact with a new land.
Visually, the street appears as a small island afloat in open water — fragments holding together at its edge. A compass in the corner offers a way to navigate between them.
The street holds details accumulated through repetition: a stray cat waiting by the door, the sea visible at the end of the road, the colour of the sky at a particular hour. None of it adds up to a full picture — memory works in pieces.
Walking the street becomes a way of tracing how those pieces arrived, settled and kept shifting as the place turned from unfamiliar into home. It becomes a kind of flow — footsteps tracing a route while memory moves alongside on its own current, surfacing and receding, and the slower flow of one daily life replacing another.

Kristina Kubrina is a multimedia artist and creative producer based in Limassol, Cyprus. She works at the intersection of projection, sensor-based systems and landscape, treating technology as a way to hold attention onto something already beautiful.
She co-founded frame.899, a Cyprus-based collective working on installations, projections and interactive media, together with Ivan Maksimov. Within this art collective, her recent work includes the Cyprus Flora Series, a body of nocturnal projections of endemic Cypriot plants and Trace x Kolla, a real-time interactive installation built from visitor contributions at Kolla Market in Limassol.
Over the past decade, she has worked as a CG production supervisor and content producer, delivering visuals for ceremonies and shows across the US, France, Italy, Qatar and Cyprus — including FIFA opening and closing ceremonies, The Weeknd’s world tour, and Škoda’s installation at Milan Design Week. She handles concept, R&D, technical pipeline and on-site execution.
