Cyta Time Capsule
ITICA - Museum Lab of CYENS
Description
An immersive VR experience brings historic Cyta telephone booths back to life, transforming them into interactive time capsules. Visitors are invited to “speak” with the booth and travel through Cyprus’s history of communication.
Using virtual reality technologies, each booth gains a digital voice and personality — a futuristic avatar that shares the stories, emotions and human connections it has “witnessed” over the decades. Participants are guided through different eras of telecommunication, from the early telephone connections of the 1960s to the rise of the internet and the future of digital communication.
Cyta Time Capsule combines physical interaction, immersive storytelling and interactivity, allowing visitors to navigate through time while reflecting on the evolution of communication and Cyta’s role in shaping Cyprus’s technological future.
The experience offers a powerful audiovisual finale, blending immersive visuals, sound and digital effects that leave visitors with a lasting sense of wonder about the past, present and future of human connection.
