Fluid Morph
Hkason
Description
Fluid Morph: Conceived through the interplay between the rehabilitative and assistive devices of the present and the trace-bearing organs that hold memories of the past, a new body comes into being. This body moves through water, leaving its own unique traces and experimenting with new sensations within that motion.
The wake patterns it creates become sensorial records of the body’s dialogue with its environment — moments where existence redefines its relationship with the world. Through the flow of water, the body extends beyond itself, unsettling the boundaries of perception and revealing the possibility of another kind of corporeality.

Hkason
Centred on the materiality and performativity of the skin that covers the human body and the clothes worn on top of it, Hkason has been embodying in the form of theatre the multilayered relationship that extends to the human body, objects and space. The physical act of putting on and taking off, which arises from the relationship between the body and objects that he has been preoccupied with, transfers to the relationship between the body and space, which again gradually expands.
Looking for points where the nature of materials and surfaces change beyond the simple act of putting on or covering, Hkason seeks the flexible ambivalence of the medium, manners of encounter and transitions.
He studied fashion at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium, and holds a degree in media arts from the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, Germany. Recently, he participated in numerous exhibitions, including his solo show Gametophyte, 2023; the group exhibition Mirror and Cloak, Platform L, 2024; Art Korea Lab, Lab Coming Day, 2023; Art Science, National Busan Science Center, 2022; RTA Evolution, Korea Post, 2022; and A Certain Art Community, Ulsan Museum of Art, 2022.
